Payments and calendar sync are not in this version. They are planned for a future Pro that is waitlist-only and not for sale yet. StudioSlot 1.0.0 has no SMS.

StudioSlot is v1.0.0. If you need card checkout, Google Calendar, or a data importer from another booking plugin, this version does not do those things. Install it, add your services and staff, and put [studioslot] on a page.

I work alone. Do I need „staff“?

Add yourself as the only staff member. Every booking request comes straight to you.

I used Amelia Lite and I only get one employee. Can StudioSlot take a second stylist?

Yes. StudioSlot’s free version includes unlimited staff. Add every professional under StudioSlot > Staff, check off who does which services, and they become bookable on the form.
Amelia Lite is limited to one employee and does not include the Employees menu (you configure a single provider in settings). That is their free-plan rule, not a bug. If that cap is why you are here, you do not pay StudioSlot to add a second chair. You add them.
There is no importer. You add services and staff in StudioSlot yourself. Leave your other plugin installed until you are ready to change the Book Now page.

Does it take payments?

Not in this version. Bookings are requests you confirm. Deposits and payments (Stripe, Square) are planned for a premium version that is not for sale yet. Use the notify-me form on studioslot.beauty if you want a heads-up. There is no buy button in the plugin.

Do you sync Google Calendar or Apple Calendar?

No. Calendar sync is planned for a future Pro. It is not in 1.0.0.

Can I import my Amelia / Bookly / Simply Schedule Appointments data?

No. StudioSlot 1.0.0 has no importer and no migration tool. Download the free plugin, add your services, add your staff, set hours, and place
[studioslot]on a page. A later migration path is a SlotWorks roadmap item, not something you can run today. -
Do my clients need an account to book?

No. They enter their name, email, and phone — that’s it.

My email notifications aren’t arriving. What’s wrong?

Your host’s default PHP mail is often unreliable. Install any SMTP plugin (for example WP Mail SMTP) and connect it to a real mail service — notifications will then deliver dependably.

Is the free version actually usable, or is Pro required?

The free version is a complete booking system: unlimited services, staff, and appointments, with email notices and double-booking protection. Pro is planned later (SMS, deposits, calendar sync, per-staff schedules) at $79/year for one site. It is a waitlist, not a checkout. Free stays free.

How many people can book the same time?

They cannot. StudioSlot checks the slot when it is shown and again when it is saved. A taken time is not offered to someone else.
